Former Executive Director of New England Venture Capital Association, Co-Founder of _Underscore.VC joins Board effective July 1, 2017

The Boston Foundation today announced it is welcoming entrepreneur C.A. Webb to the foundation’s Board of Directors for a five-year term that began July 1, 2017. Webb is the co-founder of Boston-based venture capital fund _Underscore.VC, and has also served as Executive Director of the New England Venture Capital Association. She left _Underscore.VC in February 2017 to pursue new ventures.

“Throughout her career, C.A. has leveraged technology and innovation as an engine for solving challenging problems, and we are very excited to welcome her entrepreneurial spirit to our Board of Directors,” said Paul S. Grogan, President and CEO of the Boston Foundation.

Webb has long shared her passion for innovative solutions to community challenges outside of her full-time work. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Venture Capital Association, the Alliance for Business Leadership, Resilient Coders and MassRobotics, and as an Advisor on the Boston Board of Room to Grow. She has also played an active role in the development of the Boston chapter of Pledge 1%, a Boston Foundation-supported effort to expand the philanthropic engagement of startups and other players in the innovation economy.

“C.A. Webb recognizes that the only way to solve Boston’s big problems is by building a more strongly connected community that taps the talent of all of Boston's people,” said Sandra M. Edgerley, the current Chair of the Boston Foundation Board of Directors. “She has made a career of starting and reinventing organizations, bringing an entrepreneurial approach to domains well beyond the world of technology. We look forward to collaborating with her on the Board of the Boston Foundation.”

Webb is a graduate of Wellesley College. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and children. Her renewable five-year term runs until June 30, 2022.

The Boston Foundation is also pleased to announce that two other members of the Board of Directors, Paul C. Gannon and Peter Nessen, were elected to a second term on the Board and will serve until June 30, 2022.
